After 100 years, this fashion hasn’t gone out of style, but has continued to grow inside China and abroad. First, called the ‘changpao’ and ‘qipao’ in Mandarin Chinese, it was later adapted into the word cheongsam (Shanghai word adapted to English, meaning long shirt or dress).
