Who Is Eligible for WVCHIP? Reside in West Virginia. Are under age 19. Are not eligible for West Virginia Medicaid. Income & family size fall within qualifying Income Guidelines. Public Employees' children who meet the WVCHIP Eligiblity Requirements.

While Medicaid insures many children in West Virginia, some children are also eligible to participate in the Children’s Health Insurance Program, more commonly known as CHIP. Medicaid is intended to provide health benefits to the poorest children in the state.
WVCHIP is health insurance for children (up to age 19) and pregnant women. You may qualify if you meet specific eligibility requirements, like you reside in West Virginia and fall below a certain income level. If you qualify, you will be able to visit doctors and specialists at little or no cost.
