Man and Woman. Man is the highest of creatures. The woman is the most sublime of ideals. God made for man a throne for the woman an altar. The throne exalts, the altar sanctifies. Man is the brain. The woman's heart. The brain produces the light, the heart produces the Love. Fruitful Light, Love resurrects.

Sprinkled throughout the Old Testament Prophets, marriage is used as an image of God’s relationship with His people, Israel.

It means that in Christ men and women recover what was meant by being created male and female in God’s image. It means that together as male and female they are to image-forth the glory of God and together as fellow-heirs they are to inherit the glory of God.

14 Νοε 2016 · In the creation account in Genesis 1:27 we read that “God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” The third person pronouns are fitting here because the text is providing a narrative depiction of a past event.
