867 The Church is holy: the Most Holy God is her author; Christ, her bridegroom, gave himself up to make her holy; the Spirit of holiness gives her life. Since she still includes sinners, she is "the sinless one made up of sinners."
4 Οκτ 2024 · The Church is holy. This does not mean all her members are sinless saints! Rather, to be holy is to be “set apart.”. Her mission is to be “salt and light,” a communion of Christian love that points to the reality of Jesus as the savior of the world.
We say the Church is holy, not in the sense that all members are holy--far from it. But her Founder gave it all the needed means to make people holy. The Church is Catholic because it is universal: "God wills all to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:4).

29 Ιουν 2013 · The Church is not holy because of her members. She is holy because her founder, Jesus Christ, is holy. When we say that the Church is holy, we do not mean that all of her members have ceased to be sinners and have themselves become perfectly holy.
