Prayer to Jesus. 2665 The prayer of the Church, nourished by the Word of God and the celebration of the liturgy, teaches us to pray to the Lord Jesus. Even though her prayer is addressed above all to the Father, it includes in all the liturgical traditions forms of prayer addressed to Christ.

867 The Church is holy: the Most Holy God is her author; Christ, her bridegroom, gave himself up to make her holy; the Spirit of holiness gives her life. Since she still includes sinners, she is "the sinless one made up of sinners." Her holiness shines in the saints; in Mary she is already all-holy.
4 Οκτ 2024 · This is the fulfillment of Jesus’ explicit prayer and desire in his high priestly prayer of John 17: “Father, may they be one, as you and I are one” (v. 21). The Church is holy. This does not mean all her members are sinless saints! Rather, to be holy is to be “set apart.”
The Holy Spirit Teaches Us to Pray. As Christians, it’s important that we humbly realize we do not know how to pray as we ought, nor are we able to pray as we ought by our own ability. It is the responsibility of the Holy Spirit to teach us to pray and to enable us to pray as we ought.
We say the Church is holy, not in the sense that all members are holy--far from it. But her Founder gave it all the needed means to make people holy. The Church is Catholic because it is universal: "God wills all to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:4).
