11 Οκτ 2024 · Pectin is a kind of natural macromolecular polysaccharide that mainly exists in the cell wall and inner layer of higher plants (Chen et al., 2013). Pectin was first discovered in apple juice by Vauquelin (1790) and named by Braconnot (1825), borrowing from the Greek word pektikos, meaning congeal or solidif (Chan et al., 2017).
