Astoria's Parks and Recreation Department maintains 63 parks. This includes historic landmarks, local trails , athletic fields , the Astoria Riverwalk , Youngs River Falls , Oceanview Cemetery and the Astoria Aquatic Center .
The mission of Astoria Parks & Recreation is to provide life-long learning, wellness, and well-being through recreational opportunities and is dedicated to the preservation of natural resources, open spaces and facilities that inspire and bring neighbors and Astoria's many visitors together.
Scholarships are given to kids for swimming lessons and the recreational swim league at the Astoria Aquatic Center. Scholarships are provided for kids to participate in youth sports programs through the Astoria Parks & Recreation Department. We are working to facilitate improvements to the Cathedral Tree Trail so that it may be enjoyed by all.
The Astoria Parks and Recreation Department announces the Astoria Aquatic Center will be adjusting operations beginning June 30, 2021 in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order 21-15. Mask mandates and social distancing will no longer be required.
