During street sweeping season (April 1 to mid-November) the Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation uses mechanical street sweepers to remove debris and litter from streets, weather permitting. On weekdays, from 9am to 2pm, this Sweeper Tracker map will show real-time locations of city street sweepers.
The Chicago street cleaning season is expected to run from April 2 until early November, though if it isn’t snowing by then, crews will continue to clean the streets beyond the end of the scheduled season.
