Permit Guidelines. Please submit your permit applications through email to buildinginspections@desototexas.gov. Please note that new residential and ALL commercial permits can not be submitted through email they must be on a thumb drive and each file cannot be larger than 25MB.
The City of DeSoto Building Inspection Division is here to assist the citizens of DeSoto with all their building projects. We want to assist in the pre-planning, obtaining permits, and the inspection process for their specific projects.
For Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical / HVAC and Roofing permits go to Contractor Portal / Inspections. You can submit all other permit applications through email to buildinginspections@desototexas.gov. Please note that new residential and ALL commercial permits can not be submitted through email.
