What to do if you Encounter a Wild Animal. If you have a wild animal inside living areas of your home, such as a bedroom, call 311. If you have a wild animal or reptile in your yard, in the vicinity of your home or where you are, it is not necessary to call BARC. Respect the animal and give it plenty of space.
For non pet-licensing questions or issues, use the following numbers: Call 311 or 713.837.0311 for general information, to report stray or dangerous animals, or to report a wild animal in your home. Always dial 911 in case of a life-threatening emergency.
BARC will respond to service requests where there is a possibility of a rabies exposure, a wild animal inside a living room or bedroom, or there is an animal in a humane trap that is considered a high risk for carrying rabies, such as skunks, foxes, coyotes or raccoons.
