Water Utilities. At the City of Reidsville, we are committed to providing safe, high quality water services to our community, while maintaining a standard of excellence in customer service and environmental conservation.
It is the responsibility of this department to install and maintain the drinking water distribution system and the sewage collection system for the city and surrounding areas of Jackson, Banks, and Madison counties. This includes the storage tanks, pipes, fire hydrants, and meters.
The Gainesville Department of Water Resources currently maintains over 1,600 miles of underground water and sewer pipeline, which is nearly equivalent to a continuous pipeline from Gainesville, Georgia to Salt Lake City, Utah.
There are 4 storage tanks which have a 420,000 gallon capacity. There are 5 wells drawing groundwater from unconfined crystalline rock aquifers with the pumping capacity of 630,00 gallons per day. The Authority provides water for 1,830 meters for commercial and residential use.
