An occupancy permit is a simple one-page form listing contact information and the occupants of the home. Housing Inspection Fee: $125.00 (Payable to the City of Ballwin) Occupancy Permit Fee: $10.00 (Cash or check payable to City of Winchester)
The City of Winchester contracts with Ballwin to review, approve and perform the necessary inspections for building permits. You will need to go to Ballwin City Hall at #1 Government Center to complete the application, pay their fee and obtain the permit when it is required.
An inspection is required after framing is completed, prior to drywall, and upon completion of the building. The applicant is responsible for notifying the Fire Marshall for inspections.
A NEW INSPECTION IS REQUIRED IF OCCUPANCY IS NOT OBTAINED BY THE EXPIRATION DATE. ALL UTILITIES MUST BE PROPERLY ACTIVATED AT THE TIME OF INSPECTION. ALL CODE VIOLATIONS FOUND DURING AN INSPECTION MUST BE CORRECTED, EVEN IF A CHANGE IN OCCUPANCY DOES NOT TAKE PLACE.
