The New England Brigade is the premier Civil War reenacting organization in New England. Currently, we have 20 member units; totaling over 400 reenactors and historians representing the soldiers, sailors, and civilians of the Civil War era.

Regimental history of the 28th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, one of the Civil War regiments that made up the famous Irish Brigade, and online headquarters of the recreated 28th Massachusetts, a New England-based living history organization and reenactment unit.
During the antebellum years, Boston was the hub of the abolitionist movement, and when war came, Bostonians played leading roles, both politically and militarily. Visit places of fiery speeches, jailhouse rescues, anti-slavery protests, the underground railroad, military training, Confederate POWs, and much more.
These groups often focus on reenactment of wars, offering members (and sometimes the public) a glimpse of what life was like during the conflicts that shaped history. Here you can find a list of groups that portray the American Civil War period.
