The Office of Alumni Engagement is an integral part of the Institutional Advancement Office at Virginia State University. The mission of the Alumni Office is to serve alumni through programs, events, and services and to involve alumni in the promotion, advancement, and support of the mission and goals of VSU.
There shall be three classes of membership as follows: A. Active members are those individuals who attended VSU, or its previous designation, and who pay annual dues, to the VSUAA directly or through a local chapter. All Active members shall have the right to vote and hold an elected office.
The Virginia State University Alumni Association promotes opportunities for service, friendship and networking through the many alumni events that are offered throughout the year by its alumni chapters.
The Virginia State University Young Alumni Advisory Council (YAAC) seeks to actively involve Virginia State University alumni under the age of 40. Encourage and maintain a friendly, working relationship among graduates, former students, and Virginia State University personnel. Promote professional growth and reward outstanding service contributions to students and alumni of VSU.
They include Advancement Services, Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, Conference Services, Frontline Fundraising, and Marketing & Communications. Together, the office is responsible for all of Virginia State University’s philanthropic fundraising support.
