The Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) was established in 2001 with the goal of providing youth opportunities to participate in shooting sports activities and competitions with their peers. SCTP, which operates the program, designed it to teach safe firearm handling, responsibility, leadership, and teamwork, and to promote healthy competition.
