27 Ιουλ 2023 · On a hot summer day, longtime Upstate residents know there’s a spot that remains cool: the Stumphouse Tunnel located at Stumphouse Park in Walhalla, SC (~1.25 hours from Greenville). As you escape the heat, imagine the 1,600-ft tunnel filled with blue cheese. Back in the day, that was the reality.
Theres a gate into the building in the alleyway between it and lehotsky. It had a padlock but its only like seven feet high... not too difficult to hop. You can get on the roof once youre in as well. it should be in operation still. it's a cooling tower, a lot like this but more water.
It was pretty much a straight tunnel with only a few turns. There were short shoot-offs that were access points to buildings. Most of those doors were locked, so we just kept walking until we could find a way out.
16 Απρ 2010 · There is an equipment room on the bottom floor (sw corner area) of the library that has a doorway into the east campus tunnels from inside the equipment room. At least it was there 30 years ago...
