If they had just marketed it with the same tone as the film, I think it would have done much better. Sandler had a few good serious performances during this period (Punch Drunk Love and Reign Over me) and was recognized for those but not for Click.
What did you think of Click (2006)? Discussion. Always loved this film, still think that while it had some unnecessary humor at times (like the humping dog), I think it was a great movie, one of Sandler's best IMHO, or one of his most underrated.

The movie Click with Adam Sandler, is one of the most emotional films. I've always been an Adam Sandler fan, mostly due to his comedies but man, I've seen Click 4 or 5 times in my life in the last 10 years or so and personally, the emotional scenes make me cry so bad each time I see them.

It's watching Sandler channel Jimmy Stewart in Click, a film that owes more than a little to It's a Wonderful Life. In fact, while it's more of an indirect remake of Dickens' A Christmas Carol , the Capra-esque overtones are there.
