28 Ιουν 2024 · Ocean alkalinity enhancement (OAE) reduces the concentration of dissolved carbon dioxide (CO 2) in seawater, leading to atmospheric carbon dioxide removal (CDR). Here we report laboratory...
Seawater is a vast reservoir of divalent cations (Ca 2+, Mg 2+) and dissolved CO 2 that can form sparingly soluble carbonates (and/or hydroxides). Long-term (millions of years) storage of CO 2 on Earth occurs by mineralization through the formation of calcite (CaCO 3) and aragonite (CaCO 3 ).
1 Απρ 2017 · Highlights. •. During the heat input process, the remnants of CO 2 in the storage tank have a limited effect on CaO/Ca (OH) 2. •. CO 2 reacts with CaO in the water vapor that appears during the heat release process. •. CO 2 only slightly reacts with MgO and Mg (OH) 2 during heat storage and release processes. •.
Abstract. A process for CO 2 separation using a regenerable Mg (OH) 2 sorbent. The process absorbs CO 2 through the formation of MgCO 3 and releases water product H 2 O.
25 Αυγ 2019 · The reaction mechanism in the CO 2 mineralization process. CO 2 was introduced to the obtained Mg (OH) 2 slurries with a flow rate of 100 ml min −1 at 20 °C. The composition and quantification of the species in both liquid and solid phase were analyzed.
A novel sorbent consisting of Mg (OH)2 was developed for carbon dioxide (CO2) capture at 200−315 °C suitable for CO2 capture applications such as coal gasification systems.
2 Φεβ 2024 · Abstract. We present the mass balances associated with carbon dioxide (CO 2) removal (CDR) using seawater as both the source of reactants, and as the reaction medium via electrolysis following the “ Equatic™ ” (formerly known as “SeaChange ”) process (La Plante et al. in ACS EST Eng. https://doi.org/10.1021/acsestengg.3c00004, 2023).
