30 Αυγ 2004 · For water pump or thermostat paper gasket, I typically use Permatex # 1or #2 with #2 being my choice. Differential oil cover, if it's paper then permatex #1 or 2 (with #2 being my choice). If transmission pan gasket is cork, I would use #1.
11 Ιουν 2020 · You could use a sealer, but that is going to make the job of getting the old gasket off a real PITA for the next person to do the job. There is also the likelihood that an sealer on the gasket will allow it to slide while the screws are tightened, rendering it a 'leaking gasket'....
30 Δεκ 2007 · water pump gasket, to seal or not to seal. The WSM is silent about additional sealant being applied (even if just wiped) to the faces of the water pump gasket. I've asked a couple of professional rover mechanics and they all recommended at least wiping the faces of the gasket with sealant.
