Perform PCNL to remove large renal stones in patients with urinary diversion, as well as for ureteral stones that cannot be accessed via a retrograde approach or that are not amenable to shockwave lithotripsy.
The aim of URS is complete stone removal. Dusting strategies should be limited to the treatment of large renal stones. Stones can be extracted with endoscopic forceps or baskets. Only baskets made of nitinol can be used for flexible URS . Blind basketing should not be performed (LE 4, GR 4*).
