9 Αυγ 2020 · Cobalt (II) chloride is a colorful compound with the formula CoCl2. Three hydrates of cobalt chloride exist, anhydrous, dihydrate, and hexahydrate. All three hydrates are hygroscopic, with the anhydrous a light blue color, and the di and heptahydrate violet.
Cobalt(II) chloride is the chemical compound with the formula Co Cl 2, although the term is used also to refer to the hexahydrate, which is a different chemical compound. CoCl 2 is blue, and CoCl 2 ·6H 2 O is deep rose.
