ResinTech AGC-40 CA is a semi moist 12 x 40 mesh coconut shell based granular activated carbon. It is dust free and acid washed to neutralize pH and conductivity when first placed into use. ResinTech AGC-40 CA is intended for chlorine or NOM removal where rapid adsorption is required.
The primary purpose of activating the coconut shell carbon is to increase its pore size to catch more contaminants and particles when used for filtering. There are primarily two ways to activate coconut shell carbon — by soaking it in chemicals like phosphoric acid, or it can be activated by steam, as mentioned previously.
Using coconut shell as a raw material for our activated carbon products allows us to fulfil both of these commitments. We have worked with a partner to develop a furnace that will allow us to reuse energy and reduce emissions.
