I'm looking at this used 15' Coleman as my first canoe, priced at $140. I know nothing about brands, reputation, or even what to look for in a used canoe. Could anyone give their input/advice? In today's market, if it floats then that's a steal.
Coleman Ram-X 15 foot. That thing is an absolutely indestructible tank of a canoe. We've had two of them since the late 80's and they're still going strong. Ain't pretty, heavy AF, but tough as old boots. Great find! I just got the Ram-X 16 this year. It's a blast but it is a boat.
Bought this for $100, anybody have information about the Coleman Ram X 15 model? I used to paddle a Ram X 17 around Glacier National Park working seasonally. Ton of fun on flat water, if a little slow. Not great for swift water at all, especially at the longer length. Best use: 5 people in one canoe with beers at midnight on a full moon.
