A hunt code is what you enter when applying for the draw. Every hunt code is unique, but they are all structured the same way, so if you know how to read them, you can understand what every unique hunt code means. The table above shows you what a list of hunt codes will look like in a brochure.
12 Μαΐ 2023 · Hunt codes are an eight-character code used to designate species, sex, GMU, season and method of harvest. For example, a hunt code of E-E-050-O1-R would be for elk, either sex, GMU 50, first season, rifle.
Each hunt code designates a specific species, sex, season, and method of take. The first step to find your hunt code is to look at the Unit Tables in the brochure. Each species has its own unit table, so be sure you’re looking at the elk seasons.
