12 Ιουλ 2021 · One of the rarest Colts manufactured is the Colt light weight version of the BAR, the Monitor. One was used on Bonnie and Clyde. Few were made. Visually, the Monitors differ from the BAR with its use of a pistol grip, different compensator and different handguard.
The monitor and BAR's in general are just too big and heavy to be used in the same roles as the stg. The stg was so effective because of its intermediate caliber allowing it to be light, and controllable in full auto.

The Monitors feature the same sights as early-WWI production BARs. Some Monitors, most prominently the R 75As, feature dust covers; most variants may feature dust covers that cover the ejection port, with the dust cover designed to open when the bolt is opened or closed.

16 Σεπ 2024 · Intended for use as a true shoulder-fired automatic rifle, the Colt Monitor eliminated the bipod and mounted a pistol grip and buttstock to the lightweight receiver. They also shorted the barrel to 18 in. and fitted with a 4 in. Cutts compensator made by Lyman.
