1/29/21 - This is a Colt Official Police revolver, heavy barrel variation, from 1947. Six inch barrel, chambered for .38 special. Original blue rates at 90-92% most of the wear on either side of the barrel, and some scratches on the right side of the frame.
The Official Police would serve as a prime police issue gun into the 1960s, and was highly favored by private guard services, industrial plant guards, and civilian gun owners wanting a powerful and strong revolver.
