6 Οκτ 2014 · Sorry to revive an old thread but have given this one a lot of thought and after much consideration I'll be placing the Coltrock grips that came with this pistol back on. According to Clawson's small book some of these stocks were installed for a "field test" in the 718000 and 719000 range.
Up for auction is this set of Coltrock "hollow back" grips - NO mold numbers. These grips have some wear with the left panel showing some evidence of cracking on the backside. These grips are appropriate for Colt 1911a1's from about serial number 718,000 to about 719,752.
