The RiverWalk is an outdoor 15-mile linear park that hugs the banks of the Chattahoochee River. For centuries, the Chattahoochee River has flowed from the mountains of North Georgia to the oyster beds of the Florida Panhandle. Sometimes a trickle. Sometimes angrily slapping against the rocks.
A scenic pathway that is very nice and a must see while in Columbus. You can bike or walk/run. It's a very long stretch so you can make it a short or long stretch. Best hotels along the walk are the Hotel Indigo (a little more "central") and City Mills hotel (this one is on the farther end).

The river walk downtown is a great place to take a stroll. There are several spots to stop right by the rapids, steps that go right down to the water, a water park, playground, and downtown shops and restaurants close by.
