The Combat Medic Specialist Training Course (CMSTC) trains initial entry Soldiers to provide emergency lifesaving treatment at the point of injury and at echelon level I to resuscitate and stabilize casualties in a combat or training environment.
As a Combat Medic Specialist, you'll administer emergency medical care in the field in both combat and humanitarian situations. Your training will allow you to serve as a first responder and triage illnesses and injuries to save lives, much like a paramedic in the civilian world.
Nowadays this is an integrated SOF training, including providing SOCOM Medics to be Ranger Medics, SOAR Flight Medics, Civil Affairs Med SGTs, and other USASOC Medics, while some will continue on to be 18D Special Forces Medical Sergeants, or Naval Special Operations Independent Duty Corpsmen.
