Video Runtime: 112 Minutes; Learning Assessment Time: 76 Minutes. The main objective of this introductory-level course is to provide professionals who interact with children and families the information and resources needed to recognize and report suspected cases of abuse.
This course is designed for Pennsylvania health care professionals and other mandatory reporters licensed through the Pennsylvania Department of State who are required to participate in approved child abuse recognition and reporting training as a condition of licensure. Licensees must complete 30 hours of continuing education in acceptable courses and programs in social work offered by approved providers. The 30 hours shall include 2 hours of the mandated Act 31 Child Abuse Reporter Training, 3 hours in ethics and 1 hour in suicide prevention.
Under Act 31 current licensees of the health-related Boards and the State Board of Funeral Directors must complete 2 hours of Board-approved continuing education in child abuse recognition and reporting as a condition of renewal of a license after December 31, 2014.
