Yes! Disciplinary appeals (discharge, demotion, and suspension) can be submitted online here: Request for Hearing Form (illinois.gov). Other types of appeals, such as Rules Violation Appeals, must be mailed, hand delivered, or faxed at 217-524-3706.
* This form must be filed with the Civil Service Commission within 15 calendar days after the service of the written charges. If you haven't heard anything within 5 days of submitting this form please call our office at 217-782-7373.
The Civil Service Commission is responsible for conducting hearings on appeals of discharge and suspensions totaling more than 30 days in any twelve-month period. When an employee receives a written notice of such discipline, they may appeal the action to the Commission.
