15 Δεκ 2012 · To decode a string, you would use the opposite shift (if you encrypt with shift = 2, decrypt with shift = -2). I'm also kind of new to C# and come from a C++ background, but I hope this approach works for you or makes it clear how to approach it.
The Confederate Cipher Disc was a mechanical wheel cipher consisting of two concentric discs, each with the 26 letters of the Latin alphabet, that was used for the encryption of secret messages of the Confederacy during the American Civil War (1861-1865).
The Confederate Cipher Disk is made of brass. The outer disk has a diameter of approx. 2 1/4 inch, whilst the inner disk measures approx 1 1/2 inch. On each of the disks, the alphabet is written out clockwise in the usual order (A-Z).

The cipher disk came into large· scale use in the United States for the first time in the Civil War. The Federals' Chief Signal Officer patented a version of it, very similar to the original Italian disk, for use in flag signaling.
C# Caesar Cipher & Affine Cipher Frequency Analysis. The code iterates each shift option for the cipher (0-25) and calculates the percentage frequency of each a-Z character. This is compared against the English standard letter frequencies (credit to Wikipedia.org & its sources for these values) as a percentage.
