This replica of the Confederate Code Disc was created by Precision Etchings and Findings Inc of Warwick, Rhode Island to the precise specifications of Donald E. Markle, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The disk is seen here atop its velvet carrying pouch and is a faithful replica of the original.
17 Μαρ 2016 · The Disks could be used as simple substitution cipher by setting the wheels at a known alignment, such as using setting the inner wheel letter A with the outer wheel letter D as shown in the photo of the Confederate Cipher above, but this would have been quite easy to decode.
