Right now, my planned order of play, based on versions available to me, is: Super C (NES) Contra 3 (SNES) Contra Force (NES) Contra Rebirth (Wiiware) I'm only interested in these games because from what I know other games went 3D and I prefer to stick to 2D side-scrolling shooters.
Jamestown is a neat game with bullet-hell elements like Contra. It's a bit easier though because you basically have 9 lives for each level, but if you crank up the difficulty, you'll definitely get a challenge that's not exactly as hard as Contra, but still very entertaining.

Great program that collect all freeware games, like Steam but for free games. Pretty slow at updating with suggested games but still plenty of games on there already.
