MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION OF STUDENTS WITH FOREIGN QUALIFICATIONS Candidates with impressive results at a foreign examination held outside Sri Lanka, deemed equivalent to G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination of Sri Lanka are eligible to apply for admission to universities in Sri Lanka.
When studying in Sri Lanka, it’s essential to understand how to convert local credits into your home university’s credit system. The maximum number of credits depends on the specific program, as each course carries its own credit value based on program requirements and required time.
SLQF ensures some minimum standards with regard to the attributes of the qualification holder at each of the qualification levels. Since SLQF is specific to Sri Lanka, it may not be able to cater to all the higher education admission requirements in other countries.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) will entertain applications for admission to Sri Lankan universities from candidates who have satisfied the minimum requirements for university admission at the G.C.E.
