Converting from Base Ten to any Other Base. When changing from base ten to another number base, there are two different methods. Convert from base to base 10. 2. base 10 to base . Divide the number by and record the remainder. Divide the resulting quotient by and record the remainder. The number in base is the remainders written in backwards order. Multiply the number by and record the integer. Multiply the resulting number (ignoring the integer) by and record the integer.
Conversion from base 10 to other bases involves successive division of the number in base 10 by the required base. At each step of division, the remainders are recorded including zero until the division is completed. The solution is the upward collection of all the remainders from last to the first. Eg convert 106 to i. binary ii.
Convert a number from one number system to another. Rule: any binary number can be converted to its decimal equivalent simply by summing together the weights of the various positions in the binary number which contains a 1. (optional).
