Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM) describes a set of capabilities that enable effective and efficient maintenance and operation of the target vehicle. It accounts for the collection of data, conducting analysis, and supporting the decision-making process for sustainment and operation.
There has been much progress in IVHM in the last 10 years: standards (SAE’s IVHM Steering and HM-1 groups), books (Jennions, editor, 2011 and 2012), business modeling and technology; the latter two will be touched upon, and explored, in this paper.
