Crater Lake National Park extends over 286 square miles (741 square kilometers). The park’s main feature is the brilliant blue Crater Lake. The lake sits in a caldera, which is a large pit formed by the collapse of a volcano. The caldera is 6 miles (10 kilometers) in diameter.
