28 Νοε 2007 · The Town of Creston is located in the west Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia. The focal point of the Creston Valley, the town is situated on Highway 3, the Crowsnest Highway (southern Trans-Canada) 109 km W of Cranbrook and 119 km E of Castlegar.
Creston, BC is a vibrant small town located on the unceded traditional territory of the Yaqan Nukiy within the Ktunaxa Nations. Nestled between the Selkirk and Purcell mountain ranges, it is the largest community in the Creston Valley, with a population of approximately 5,500.
Creston is built on rolling bench-land immediately to the east of the Kootenay River floodplain. Beyond the bench-land to the east are the Purcell Mountains ; their steep west-facing scarps are mistakenly called the Skimmerhorns, while the Selkirk Mountains rise west of the floodplain.
