CROS hearing aids are for people with unilateral hearing, also known as single-sided deafness. The typical wearer is someone who has relatively normal hearing in one ear and hearing that can’t be helped with standard hearing aids in the other. The CROS is worn on both sides.
CROS is designed for those with single-sided deafness. When paired with a Phonak hearing aid, CROS will capture sounds from your impaired ear and wirelessly deliver them to your functional ear, so that you can hear sounds from every direction effortlessly.
A CROS system typically consists of two hearing aids—one to pick up sound from the deaf ear and send it to the better ear (i.e., a transmitter), and one to play back the sound received from the deaf ear. If the better ear has hearing loss, sound from both ears amplified by the receiving hearing aid.
Experience the power of Phonak CROS Infinio, designed for those with unaidable hearing loss on one side, regardless of the level of hearing in your better ear. Discover how CROS Infinio can enhance your hearing experience.
