Weekly examlets will be given in class on Thursdays, starting in the third week of classes. There will be two sittings of each exam, one at 9:30 and one at 10:10. The class is divided into two groups, based on the first letter of your last name. The table below shows which time each group should report.

Weekly examlets will be given in class on Thursdays at 11:00, starting in the third week of classes. Before the first examlet, you must read the exam instructions and the exam logistics information. These instructions will NOT be reprinted with each examlet. The listed chapters and skills are the new skills for each examlet.

I've been seeing a lot of panicked posts about CS 173 on here, so I thought I'd try to help out if I can (??). I took 173 over the summer with Patrick Lin and Ian Ludden, and like a lot of you, really struggled (math is not my strongsuit). Here's how I studied (and how I got my A) in the course:
The final exam is short, the equivalent of two weekly examlets. For each examlet, students are given an explicit skills list and TAs are given a pre-built rubric for grading open-answer questions. The examlets contain a mixture of multiple choice, drag and drop, short answer questions, shown below.
