30 Ιουν 2020 · To change any CSS styles with JavaScript use document.getElementById("item").style.XXX = "value";, change XXX with the thing you want to change, in your case z-index: document.getElementById("item").style.zIndex = "7"; you can do the same thing with jQuery with more simple way : $("#item").css("z-index","7");

The z-index Property. When elements are positioned, they can overlap other elements. The z-index property specifies the stack order of an element (which element should be placed in front of, or behind, the others). An element can have a positive or negative stack order:
