20 Νοε 2024 · This is the official website of the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch. It is the mission of the Connecticut Judicial Branch to resolve matters brought before it in a fair, timely, efficient and open manner.
Connecticut has a centralized, unified adult criminal justice system. Because there is no county government, and Connecticut is divided into 169 municipalities, there is no overlap of functions such as might arise with county government or a multi-tier court system.
The New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney’s Office serves the following cities and towns: Branford, Bethany, Cheshire, East Haven, Guilford, Hamden, Madison, Meriden, New Haven, North Branford, North Haven, Wallingford and Woodbridge.
In Connecticut, there is one federal district court, a state supreme court, a state court of appeals, and trial courts with both general and limited jurisdiction. These courts serve different purposes, which are outlined in the sections below. Click a link for information about that court type.
This section of the website provides users with information about Supreme and Appellate, civil, family, criminal, motor vehicle, housing, and small claims cases.
