Special Rule of Order: Time Limit to Achieve Quorum. The Holder of the Chair shall adjourn any called meeting of the Academic Senate that lacks a quorum one half hour after the announced time for the meeting. Top. Rule III. Review of Senate Committee Documents.
The Bylaws are adopted/amended by the CUNY Board of Trustees. They are the highest source of policy created within the University and take precedence over all other internal University policy documents, including non-bylaw policies.
SECTION 1.5. QUORUM OF THE BOARD. Nine trustees of the board shall constitute a quorum. SECTION 1.6. PRESIDING OFFICER. If the chairperson does not attend a meeting at which a quorum is present, the vice chairperson may call the meeting to order and preside.
The Academic Senate shall elect (4) faculty members, one from each school, and four (4) students and transmit their names to the President for consideration as members of the Provost Search Committee.
12 Μαΐ 2021 · Election shall be by a majority of those eligible to vote. In accordance with Board policy (Section 9.1.b.), and unless further modified by the Board, all elected terms for department chairs shall be for three years and shall begin on July 1 and end on June 30 of the designated last year of service.
Student Government shall mean the individual student government from any division of any college comprising the CUNY system that elects a Delegate and/or Alternate to represent it as a member of the University Student Senate (hereinafter “USS”), and as further defined in the Bylaws of the Board.

An associate’s degree requires approximately 60 college credits while a bachelor’s typically requires 120 college credits.
