23 Αυγ 2022 · Lake Powell, a key component of the western U.S. water system, is currently filled to just 26 percent of capacity, its lowest point since 1967. On August 22, 2022, the water elevation of the lake surface was 3,533.3 feet, more than 166 feet below “full pool” (elevation 3,700 feet).
3 Αυγ 2023 · LAKE POWELL, Utah — Bird’s-eye photos from the European Space Agency‘s Copernicus SENTINAL-2 satellites captured the dramatic rise of Lake Powell’s water levels this summer. The satellites began taking photos of the southern Utah reservoir lake on March 18 with the final photo being taken on July 16.

The natural-color images above show Lake Powell in the late summer of 2017 and 2021, as observed by the Operational Land Imager on Landsat 8. The September 2017 image was chosen because it represents the highest water level (3,630.76 feet) from the past decade.
