Install Custom Maps by dragging the .dll into your BONEWORKS/Mods folder. Launch BONEWORKS once, let it run to the Main Menu and then exit the game right after. Download any maps you want on Bonetome, at the Custom Maps page: https://bonetome.com/boneworks/map/.
Same but it's not an easy thing to do, they'll have to create a level editor and all the tools required for modding. If they get big overtime there's a chance that we'll see something of the sort
