These barrels fit Remington 700 actions and many custom actions with Remington 700 style thread and bolt nose. Installation is done using the NSS Remage barrel nut and NSS precision ground heavy-duty recoil lug.
Now coupled with the Savage Barrel nut design we get the Rem/Age pre fit barrel. By elongating the threads and adding a barrel nut, you are able to change out your Remington 700 barrel with a matching chamber Go gauge, barrel nut wrench and a barrel vise. Compatible with Impact 737R Actions.

So I have this Remington 700 in 30-06 that I brought to the smith to be re-barreled. When he saw the rifle he said, woooah, this is an old one - a "flat top". I have looked up the date code. It's a G series, which could be 1938, 1960 or 1984 IIRC. His guess was 1960, I'm not sure.

Depending on how tolerances stack, you may have to make slight adjustments to either the barrel, recoil lug or receiver. The first step is to measure the barrel and the action and see how they line up.
