11 Μαρ 2011 · I researched the barrel stamps and am stumped on a model 700.... and on a 1100. The BDL is a 7 mag Serial B 6205xxx. The gun is mint and I know that there were never any barrel replacements or other surgery preformed but the barrel stamp is PA 27, which as I read the chart would mean June of 1932????
The model 700 was introduced in 1962, however, I believe toward the end of the 722 and 721 they did make some of them with barrels that had the same contour as a 700, these are fairly rare. The barrel you have was likely made in 1960, and then put on a 700 when they were introduced in 1962.
5 Φεβ 2022 · In the case of latter models, especially the RR prefix, there may not be a date code but the date of manufacture may be on the box label. The barrel date code is two letter code. The first letter is the month and is based on “BLACK POWDER” with B representing January, etc.

Depending on how tolerances stack, you may have to make slight adjustments to either the barrel, recoil lug or receiver. The first step is to measure the barrel and the action and see how they line up.
