4 Μαρ 2014 · Here is the link for Remington's barrel date codes with an explanaition of how to read them. As noted previously, some year codes do repeat. With the repeat some history such as the overall model manufacturing dates, and or other history will have to be known.
5 Φεβ 2022 · In the case of latter models, especially the RR prefix, there may not be a date code but the date of manufacture may be on the box label. The barrel date code is two letter code. The first letter is the month and is based on “BLACK POWDER” with B representing January, etc.

12 Σεπ 2021 · Need a little help determining the model of a Remington 700, 7mm rem mag rifle? Serial # B6239593, "PB" stamped. Barrel length is 24". I think it is a 700 custom circa 1981?
So I have this Remington 700 in 30-06 that I brought to the smith to be re-barreled. When he saw the rifle he said, woooah, this is an old one - a "flat top". I have looked up the date code. It's a G series, which could be 1938, 1960 or 1984 IIRC. His guess was 1960, I'm not sure.
10 Οκτ 2008 · It had the grey stock, long taper on the barrel to pretty light contour (for a .338 anyway), and the markings were not in the normal type that Remington uses. Are there any sure-fire ways to identify that it is or is not a KS Custom?
