Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army graced the occasion as the chief guest and received a warm welcome by Brigadier P.R. Samaraweera, Director, Dte of ABF. Soon after, the days chief guest inaugurated the new facility by unveiling the special plaque and cutting a ribbon.
This fund was re-established as the Directorate of Army Benevolent Fund in year 2009. Originally, this fund was established for the purpose of Regular force welfare and subsequently, it was extended for the Volunteer force in year 1998.
Directorate of Army Benevolent Fund, responsible for additional welfare of Army personnel launched its maiden website, www.army.lk/dabf on January (1) morning during a simple ceremony at the Directorate premises at Panagoda.
Examinations for IABF and DABF under the Old Curriculum will continue until September 2025. Two examinations cycles are conducted for DBF, HDBF, IABF, and DABF in March and September under normal circumstances. These time periods are subject to change under unavoidable circumstances.
